This newspaper was published by Edward (Ed) Howard. Edward Davenport Howard was an American citizen who settled on Norfolk Island in the 1970s and took a pro-Pitcairner stance. Though not of Pitcairn Island descent, he was, unusually, accepted into the then Pitcairn Descendents Society and became an active researcher into the history of the complex historical relationship between the Pitcairn Island settlers in Norfolk Island and the governing authorities Britain, in the Australian colonies (N.S.W, and Van Dieman’s Land) and later the Commonwealth of Australia.
Howard published a mixture of day-to-day happenings and political commentary, as well as the results of his investigations into the constitutional position of modern Norfolk Island.
