The Island’s journey from 1838 to 2023

This page is dedicated to recounting the remarkable story of the Pitcairn people from the date of promulgation of their constitution (1838) until the establishment of the Norfolk Island Governance Committee in August 2023. The 2023 date has been selected as a cutoff point, for from then, steps to establish a new governance structure were commenced. The narrative from that date onwards is taken up on the website of the Norfolk Island Knowledge and Learning Centre, www.knowledgecentre.nf.
